Techniques, Materials, and Practices in Modern Road Construction(Seminar)
The Department of Civil Engineering successfully organized and hosted an insightful seminar titled “Flexible Pavement Construction: Techniques, Materials, and Practices in Modern Road Construction” on April 23, 2025, at the Town Campus of SIMAD University. This academic event was part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance practical learning and industry engagement among engineering students. The seminar featured Eng. Nuradin Tanas Ibrahim as the keynote speaker, a seasoned professional in the field of transportation and pavement engineering.
During the session, Eng. Nuradin delivered an in-depth presentation covering a wide range of critical topics, including the selection and performance of pavement materials, design considerations for flexible pavements, and modern construction techniques currently adopted in the field. His talk emphasized the importance of sustainable practices, quality control in execution, and technological advancements that are reshaping road infrastructure in the region.
The seminar not only enriched the students’ academic experience but also bridged the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world applications. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to engage actively through questions and discussions, further enhancing their understanding of the subject. The Department of Civil Engineering remains committed to hosting similar academic activities that bring industry expertise directly to the university environment.
