With more than ten years of expertise in process engineering, industrial gas operations, and higher education, Abdullahi Abdusamad Abdurahman is a committed chemical engineer. He graduated from Red Sea University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and Lincoln University College in Malaysia with a master’s degree in water resource management. Abdullahi has made significant contributions to Somalia’s LPG sector and taught chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics as a lecturer at various universities. He has both academic and practical experience in environmental impact analysis, sustainable engineering techniques.

- February 2009–2013: Engineer for GAZWAL (LP Gas Company): It primarily entails refilling and repairing gas cylinders as well as offloading LPG gas from trucks to main store tanks. Ensuring quality control of the LPG gas and maintaining safety precautions for the company, Juba-South Sudan
- Since 2014, I have been working as a consultant and production engineer for SOM GAS (LP Gas Distribution Co.). My work mainly involves the refilling and repairing of gas cylinders and the offloading of LPG gas from the storage tanks to the production unit. Ensuring quality control of the LPG gas and maintaining safety precautions for the company.
- Since 2012, I have been a lecturer at Mogadishu University, Faculty of Engineering, teaching general chemistry, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics.
- Since 2014, I have been a lecturer at SIMAD University, Faculty of Engineering, teaching engineering chemistry and fluid mechanics.
- Since 2018, I have been a lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering at Jamhuuriya University, teaching fluid mechanics.
- In 2006, I spent four weeks at the Port Sudan Oil Refinery/Port Sudan, Sudan. Analyze specifications, schedules, logs of tests, results, and laboratory recommendations to determine how to set equipment controls to produce the required qualities and quantities of products.
- Six-week period completed Municipal Water and Waste Water Treatment in Port Sudan, Sudan, 2007. Water and wastewater treatment plant operators increasingly rely on computers to help monitor equipment, store sampling results to make process control decisions, schedule operations, and record production reports.
- Three-week period completed in Sudan’s New Halfa Factory Sugar, 2008. Familiarize yourself with the sugar manufacturing process from start to finish.
- In 2008, I completed a four-week internship at the Atbara Cement Factory in Atbara, Sudan. Introduction to the cement manufacturing process, including all steps such as quality control, component mixing, and packaging to create the finished product.
- In August 2016, I completed a three-day training course on chemical safety and security in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
- In February 2017, I completed a three-day workshop training course on Chemical Risk Management for Industry in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
